Which are the Private Trusts offering Scholarships?

Listed below are some of the private trusts that fund deserving students who wish to pursue higher studies abroad including postgraduate programs.

    • K.C. Mahindra Education Trust: You can get up to Rs 65,000 for various postgraduate programs. You need to submit a complete application by the 31st of March of the year of the scholarship award. Aspiring students for this grant are expected to have received an offer of acceptance from the concerned Universities abroad, or they must have submitted their applications.
  • J.N. Tata Endowment Scholarships: They provide loan scholarships to students enrolled for higher studies abroad. The amount varies between Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh and is not responsible for covering the full expenses of the program. Some meritorious scholars may be awarded a travel grant and also a gift scholarship amounting up to Rs 10 lakh from the Jamsetji Tata Trust.
  • Sahu Jain Trust: The Sahu Jain Trust, founded by Smt. Rama Jain and Sahu Shanti Prasad offers loan scholarships to deserving students for pursuing studies abroad and in India. These scholarships of up to Rs 1 lakh are exclusively for students pursuing higher studies in technical disciplines. You can repay the loan amount in easy interest-free installments.
  • R.D. Sethna Scholarship: You can get an amount of Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000 at an annual interest of 2% for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in scientific, commercial, industrial and technical disciplines. You must submit a complete application by 31st May of the year of the scholarship award.

  • A little research about the history and background of the trust scholarship you wish to apply for can be of certain help while you sit down to write an essay.
