How Huazhong University of Science & Technology will Shape your Medical Career

Founded in the year 1907, Huazhong University of Science & Technology (HUST), a public research university, is situated in Wuhan, Hubei province, China. Apart from Beijing and Shanghai, Wuhan has traditionally been one of the three significant scientific education centers in China. Also, of all the cities in China, it has the largest number of students enrolled.

HUST is a result of a merger between the former Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan Urban Construction Institute, Wuhan Science and Technology Vocational College, and Tongji Medical University that took place in the year 2000. Affiliated to the Chinese Ministry of Education, it is a part of “Project 985”, a project that promotes the reputation and development of the Chinese higher education system. HUST is also a Class “A” Double First Class University and has been elected by Nature, an academic journal, as one of “China’s Top Ten Research Institutions.”
