The step-wise counseling process for NEET UG aspirants is mentioned below:
Candidates who are eligible as declared by the NTA will have to register online for the NEET UG counseling process through an official link. Candidate should click on the ‘New Registrations’ tab and then enter the details such as roll number, All India Rank and percentile score. After the candidate has finished with the registration process, a username and password will be allotted to him/her.
Candidates will have to select medical and dental colleges according to their choice. NEET UG counseling allows the candidates to exercise their options. Candidates can interchange their opted choices as many times as they would like to before locking the final choice. Once the candidate locks the choice, it cannot be modified.
In round 1, seats are allocated to candidates according to their locked choices of medical and dental colleges based on the candidate’s merit and availability of seats.
After the first round of seat allotment, the result for NEET UG counseling is published online in PDF format. This result comprises the state’s name, institute name, branch, category, and the total number of seats.
After the Round 1 counseling results are declared, candidates will have to report at the medical or dental college within a certain period of time to confirm the allocated seats and be eligible to participate in the subsequent rounds.
After Round 1 of NEET UG counseling process, the subsequent rounds are carried out similarly. To be eligible for the subsequent rounds, candidates who have been allotted a seat should have reported to the medical or dental college within the given period of time.
All the different state governments conduct a two-round counseling process separately for admission to state quota seats in the government or private colleges.
