Founded in the year 1978, Ross University was initially named ‘The University of Dominica School of Medicine.’ In 1982, it was named after its founder Robert Ross, an entrepreneur. Courses Offered

The curriculum at Ross University is very different from that followed by various medical schools. You can choose the classes that you want to be admitted to, throughout the year. There are  the “Accelerated Curriculum” and the “Curriculum.” The only difference between the two is that The Accelerated Curriculum covers the same material in 60 weeks or four semesters, whereas the Curriculum covers it in 75 weeks or five semesters.

Admission at Ross University

The process of admission at the university is straightforward. One must at least have a Bachelor’s degree. Higher degrees may be preferred at the time of enrollment. Personal Statements, MCAT scores, and letters of recommendation are to be produced along with the application. Along with this, a strong performance in a chemistry course and advanced biology is recommended.

Ross University encourages international students to apply. International student applications are evaluated strictly based on their merit, and they are expected to have completed a curriculum alongside US and Canadian students.

After the submission of online forms and scrutiny, you may be called in for a face-to-face interview. This interview helps the admissions committee to view your personal and academic background, character, aptitude, maturity, adaptability, motivation, and aim to become a doctor. However, you must remember that an interview granted does not guarantee admission, but it is a fairly important procedure.
